A variety of scholarships are available to North Zone officials that are either currently attending a post secondary institution or plan to do so in the near future. Find below the scholarships that are available as well as the application forms and documentation requirements for each.

 

Colin Hackett Scholarship

One (1) award of $1,000 presented to a North Zone official.

  • Deadline March 31 of application year

 

Hockey Alberta Referee Council Scholarship

  • Maximum of three (3) awards of $1,500 each presented annually to qualified Hockey Alberta official(s).
  • Deadline April 1st of application year

 

Kenneth Stiles Scholarships are given out by Hockey Canada. Please forward your applications to David Shaw who will forward on to Hockey Canada and will write a letter of endorsement to go along with it to the office. Due to Hockey Canada office by April 15, 2015. "Check back for updates"

If possible I would ask that the applications be shared with these restrictions:

Male Application

  • Only Hockey Canada OPOE Regional Camp delegates are eligible
  • Delegates are required to be endorsed by the Branch RIC


Female

  • ONLY Level III and above may apply
  • Delegates are required to be endorsed by the Branch RIC

Edmonton Bantam Invitational Tournament Scholarship 

  • One (1) award of $1,000 presented to a North Zone official that actively officiated at the Bantam level during the current season.
  • Deadline: March 1st of application year

 

Friends of Alberta Junior Hockey Society Scholarship 

  • Awards of $1,500 presented to players, game officials and/or team therapists who distinguish themselves in their pursuit of academic and athletic excellence.
  • In order to be considered for this distinguished scholarship opportunity you need to be an active official in the Alberta Junior Hockey League.
